Queen's Indian Defense, with e3 is a chess opening with the ECO code E14. It goes 1. d4 Nf6 2. Nf3 e6 3. e3 b6 4. Bd3 Bb7 5. O-O c5 6. c4 Be7. White opens with 1. d4 (the queen's pawn) and Black answers 1... Nf6. After 12 moves it is White to move. A Queen's Indian where White plays a quiet e3 and Bd3 setup. Black still uses ...b6 and ...Bb7 to control e4.
