About the Neo-Grünfeld Defense
Black uses Grünfeld ideas (...g6, ...Bg7, ...d5) when White has played g3 or f3 instead of Nc3. Black still attacks White's centre.
...d5 challenges the centre and frees the knight to hop to d5 or b6.
