Kádas Opening: Beginner's Trap is a chess opening with the ECO code A00, part of the Kádas Opening family. It goes 1. h4 d5 2. Rh3. White opens with 1. h4 and Black answers 1... d5. The moves
1. h4 – White plays the pawn to h4
1... d5 – Black plays the pawn to d5
2. Rh3 – White plays the rook to h3
About the Kádas Opening
White starts with 1.h4, a very offbeat move that does little for the centre. It is mostly a surprise weapon.
The idea is to use the h-rook via h3 or to push h5 later.
Black should just take the centre with ...d5 and ...e5.
White's kingside gets weaker, so castling short is less safe.
