About the Englund Gambit Declined
After 1.d4 e5, White does not take and pushes 2.d5 or plays another move. White avoids the Englund traps and gains space.
The d5 pawn cramps Black and takes the c6 and e6 squares.
White follows with e4 for a big, safe centre.
Black can play ...Bc5, ...d6 and ...f5 for counterplay.
