Converting an advantage

How to win a won position: trade pieces, not pawns, take away your opponent's tricks, and simplify into an ending you can win. Then the other side: how to defend a worse position and set problems, right down to a stalemate save. This is a strategy course with 2 lessons and 5 interactive exercises, suited to players rated around 1300 (improving players). Every exercise is played on a real board with feedback after each move, there is nothing to install, and it is free.

Lessons in Converting an advantage

  1. Winning a won position – Being ahead is not the same as winning. Calm, simple moves turn an extra piece into a full point.
  2. Defending a worse position – When you are worse, turn the rules around. Trade pawns, keep your pieces active, and look for a save.
